Union College men's ice hockey head coach Nate Leaman will talk about the United States’ fifth-place finish in the World Junior Hockey Championships when the “Slap Schotts” segment of “Big Board Sports” returns at 11:05 a.m. Thursday after a two-week hiatus.


Wednesday's men's, women's basketball games postponed

Tonight's Union men's basketball home game vs. Eastern Connecticut, scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Viniar Athletic Center, has been postponed to tomorrow, Thursday, January 8, at 7 p.m.

In addition, tonight's Union women's basketball game, scheduled at Nichols College in Dudley, MA, has been postponed. No new date has been scheduled at this time.

SCHENECTADY, NY -- Steve Madej has received Liberty League recognition for the second time this season. The senior co-captain was named the league's Men's Basketball Co-Guard of the Week. He had previously been honored on December 1.

Rogers, Whitham, earn Liberty League weekly honors
SCHENECTADY, NY -- This week, two Union women's basketball players were selected Liberty League Women's Basketball weekly all stars. #Michelle Rogers# was named the Co-Forward of the Week and #Selin Whitham# was selected as the Co-Guard of the Week. Both players are also nationally ranked in NCAA Division III statistics.

Cook Placed On Lowe's Senior Class Award Candidate List
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Union College men’s ice hockey captain #Matt Cook# is one of 20 student-athletes nationally to be selected as a candidate for the 2008-09 Lowe’s Senior Class Award. The award is presented annually to an NCAA Division I student-athlete in nine sports based on achievements in the “Four C’s” of classroom, character, community and competition. CLASS is an acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School.
