QuickTime in PowerPoint (Windows)

Embedding an Apple QuickTime movie in presentation

  1. In PowerPoint, make sure the Control Toolbox is showing. If not, choose View > Toolbars > Control Toolbox.
  2. Open a blank slide.
  3. Choose the "More Controls" button (circled below).

  5. Select "Apple QuickTime Control 2.0".

  7. Draw a rectangle (any size) on the slide, using click-and-drag with the mouse.
  8. Right-click on the white rectangle, and choose Properties. This will bring up the Properties dialog.

  10. To the right of the "URL" field, fill in the complete path and the file name, for example "E:\presentation\sample.mov".

    • Note that the path to the file name is absolute. Whenever you move the video file, the path must be updated.
